The Sr. Data Scientist-Clinical Analytics reports into Cignas Global Data & Analytics organization within the Consumer & Clinical Analytics team. The Sr. Data Scientist will be responsible for delivering data and analytics insights to support Client High Acuity Model (CHAM) clinical functions: lowering total medical costs while maintaining or improving clinical quality and outcomes.
You will collaborate with other data and analytics teams and medical management business leads to assess existing analytic tools and refine or develop new tools to analyze client-level clinical analytics.
+ Perform complex data research and analysis to support business operations and decision making including: creating data mining architectures/models/protocols, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets, and assess impacts resulting from an evolving data environment.
+ Perform analytics processes, including data and analytic development and interpretation. Ensure code and outputs are appropriately documented and can be understood by other analysts.
+ Analyze results and present analytics in a consumable method using overview, major takeaways, major questions, and next steps.
+ Works directly with representative D&A leads and matrix partners to understand project developments, assess impacts to data and analytics.
+ Works closely with CHAM product owners and Medical Management team and other work leads to align on features of work in required focus areas.
+ Report the outcome of analysis to Product Owner and program leads, and assists in the documentation of developments and program impacts.
+ Bachelors Degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
+ **3 or more years of health insurance related data/analytics experience solving business problems through the application of analytic** **approaches required** .
+ **Experience with diverse healthcare data including claims, EHR, demographic, exercise, pharmacy, lab, biometrics, genomic, and text required.**
+ Experience programming in R and Python required
+ Previous experience with technology/software to wrangle data, perform analytics, and visualize for consumption: SAS, Data Robot, Looker, Tableau
+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills with understanding of predictive statistical modeling and program evaluation as well as, machine learning, and data mining concepts, and a track record of solving business problems with these methods.
+ Ability to independently perform data analysis while managing multiple projects and meeting strict deadlines.
+ Proven ability to work collaboratively in complex matrix organizations and agile teams
+ Ability to understand the business model and provide valid and actionable insights to our customers (e.g., clients, internal matrix partners) with written, oral, and group presentations.
