This position is for a senior professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in Program Management, who leads medium-sized programs. Develops program plans, schedules, and budgets. Supports strategic planning efforts, solutions for program problems, contract negotiations, and manages important vendors.
This position will be responsible for a multi-million dollar customer P&L and critical missile programs. They will interact directly with our customers on a daily basis to understand customer needs. They will then coordinate with all internal stakeholders to drive plans that ultimately delight the customer and grow the business.
This position will manage, medium to large and/or multiple small programs to ensure adherence to the program plans, schedules, and budgets for each of the programs under their responsibility. The Program Manager will monitor strategic planning efforts, present progress reports and value-stream strategies, will recommend solutions for program problems, will be responsible to manage the P&L and provide strategic direction for contract negotiation for the programs under their responsibility.
The Program Manger will be responsible for:
Managing the contract lifecycle of medium to large and/or multiple small programs.
Interfacing with customers to ensure successful completion of program and follow-on opportunities.
Will provide briefings in the customer forum on programmatic issues and results
Coordinating the preparation of proposals, business plans, specifications and operations planning for programs and supports the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes
Working with the Program Integrated Product Team (IPT) through all phases of the program management process, specifically ensuring the successful achievement of all deliverable outputs and customer requirements
Working with IPT leads to resolve technical and contractual issues, prioritize work, allocate resources, and to understand financial variances
Managing Risk and Opportunity, working with cross-functional team in development and execution of risk/opportunity plans to meet program objectives
Supporting the development of new business growth strategies
Interfacing and influencing internally within GNCAS-AIS and within Collins Aerospace at all levels of the organization and in a heavily matrixed environments
The Program Manager must have:
Experience in engaging all levels of the organization including VP, management and individual contributor level
Outstanding written, and oral, communication skills
Experience in Managing Risk and Opportunity, briefings in customer forums, and work in cross-functional teams
This position requires a Bachelor?s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the
appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.

Demonstrated leadership experience
Communication skills: Negotiation, collaboration, creativity, presentation and communication (written and verbal), responsiveness, being open-minded, team player, facilitation
Experience working in a Matrix Organization with multiple customers
Strong customer interface skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Microsoft Office experience (strong Excel/PowerPoint, Access a plus)
Experience with the SAP suite of tools a plus
Travel up to 25%
Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree or Master of Science in Aerospace Management
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Earned Value Certification or equivalent
Understanding of operations, engineering, or business development
Understanding of the missile market is a plus
Excellent SAP knowledge and experience desired
