**GENERAL DUTIES**
I.T. Support Assistants support routine operations and problem resolution of computing and/or communications functions at a College or Unit. They work in technical support, applications development, operations, help desk, and similar environments, as well as in the field where equipment may be located.
Work tasks include as:
-Operating, transporting, adjusting, and installing/configuring computing and related equipment
-Communicating with technology users and staff to understand, identify, document and resolve problems
-Performing simple repairs to computing and related equipment.

**CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION**
The CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy (SPH) is one of five independent professional schools among the 26 colleges of the City University of New York, the largest metropolitan university in the U.S. situated in a new vertical campus in the heart of Harlem in New York City, CUNY SPH provides cutting edge graduate level public health degree programs and is dedicated to research, teaching, and community service that promotes population health and social justice through leadership and innovation. Faculty and students are actively engaged in addressing critical public health problems in New York and other cities around the world.
The Information Technology (IT) department is responsible for providing, promoting, facilitating, and supporting the effective use of technology in education, research, and community engagement. The IT Support Assistant will function as a helpdesk technician. Under the supervision of the Helpdesk Supervisor, the IT Support Assistant will assist SPH Students, Faculty, and Staff with technical issues related to SPH computing devices, user accounts, and campus software. The IT Support Assistant will also assist with the maintenance and upkeep of campus computing equipment, including classroom and conference room A/V equipment, desktops, laptops, printers, and associated peripherals.
Based on scheduling requirements, the IT Support Assistant will frequently be required to work evening hours from 2pm 10pm on weekdays.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
2. Eighteen months of related full-time work experience or equivalent, such as completion of eighteen college credits in Information Technology
3. Demonstrated English Language proficiency
4. A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
Preferred candidates should have:
- Experience with basic computer hardware deployment and maintenance replacing RAM, hard drives, network cards, connecting peripherals, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows operating system installation, configuration of system settings (display, networking, user account management), and installation and removal of software.
- Knowledge of Apple OS operating system installation, configuration of system settings (display, networking, user account management), and installation and removal of software.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory to manage user accounts.
- Knowledge of Microsoft MDT to for OS deployment.
- Familiarity working with and troubleshooting A/V equipment, including microphones, projectors, and associated cabling.
- Experience with web conferencing software e.g. Skype, Zoom, WebEx.
- Ability to install basic network printer operations adding printers to devices, replacing toner/ink and other supplies, etc.
- Customer service skills in a Heldesk environment. interacting directly with end-users.
- Experience using a ticketing system to track issues and communicate with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Blackboard, SharePoint and Office 365 a plus.
**COMPENSATION**
SALARY:
New Hire Rate: $38,165*
Incumbent Rate: $43,127
*This amount reflects a 13% salary suppression in effect for the first 24 months of employment only.
