Join our Core Business Services (CBS) team and you will help support the important business enablement functions that keep our organization running strong. **Job Summary:**
The
Finance Writer - Assistant Director edits market-facing and internal
publications and articles on technical accounting, auditing and financial
reporting topics produced by the Professional Practice group in our Americas
Assurance practice and sometimes writes the content himself/herself. This
individual will help us make sure that our thought leadership on financial
reporting topics and our technical guidance is clear and easy to understand.
The individual also will play a critical role in developing and enhancing the
firm's publications, our weekly newsletter and our AccountingLink website,
where publications are displayed.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Work with the AssociateDirector-editor to edit and draft content on complex accounting and financialreporting issues, including internal and external publications and articles onstandard setting and regulatory developments
+ Work with subjectmatter experts and the editor to plan publications and shape key messages
+ Share responsibilityfor quality control over publications distributed internally and externally
+ Recommend ways to makeinternal and external publications easier to read
+ Operate with minimalsupervision
+ Meet deadlines
+ Develop and maintainrelationships with Professional Practice partners, executive directors andresidents
+ Work with the publicationsteam to improve the delivery of our publications, especially on theAccountingLink web site
+ Travel occasionally
**Qualifications**
+ A bachelor's degree inEnglish or journalism, comparable business journalism experience or a CPA withproven writing ability
+ At least five years ofwriting experience, including summarizing and analyzing accounting, auditingand financial reporting developments
+ The ability tounderstand the significance of business and accounting developments and explainthem in clear, compelling English
+ The ability to developrelationships with accounting and audit professionals that will help us producehigh-quality, timely publications
+ The ability to work asa member of the editing team and the broader Content publishing team
