Position Summary: Reports to an ITS Group Lead or ITS Manager. Provide application and technical information system support. Designs, analyzes, builds, tests, trains and supports assigned applications. Identify application/process design issues or conflicts and assist with the resolution.\"On Call\" responsibilities as required.
Builds and maintains assigned applications and interfaces.
Participates in test script development and execution.
Conducts testing for assigned applications.
Coordinates vendor support for functional and technical support of applications, interfaces and equipment.
Participates in training and development of staff and users as assigned.
Provides customer response and updates according to current policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and one (1) year of related experience.
Healthcare experience is preferred.
Work experience may substitute for minimum education requirement.
Due to sensitive security and financial responsibilities, must successfully pass Credit/Financial screenings.
Working knowledge of state and federal health care information technology laws and regulations.
Working knowledge of general information technology policies and procedures.
Ability to operate various office machines including printers, computers and various software packages.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and sound judgment.
Must be willing to learn new technologies and techniques.
Must be willing and able to come to work in adverse weather conditions.
Travel to Hartford Healthcare sites within 30 miles of Hartford will be required occasionally.
Attends all mandatory education and training programs (including department specific) and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance as well as department safety and specific job-related hazards.
Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
Attire is professional, neat, clean, and appropriate for the work environment, according to the HHC and/or Department Appearance Policy and a high standard of personal cleanliness is maintained.
Reports to work on time and meets acceptable standard for attendance, based upon the department attendance policy.
Communicates messages clearly and concisely
Additional Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Skills and Requirements):
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of IT application support experience.
Clinical ancillary application experience a plus
Proactive critical thinking
Server Basics(Server Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Task Scheduler, Windows services, Event Viewer, Server Manager Dashboard, RDP (MSTSC))
Desktop Services Basics(Command shell basics, Administrator Tasks/Functions, Programs and Features, Remote Desktop Control Manager)
Basic Infrastructure Understanding - Packaging - Deployment of Applications/Drivers, Citrix Design, Citrix Storefront delivery, Citrix Troubleshooting, AppSense a plus
Understanding of interface communications including HL7, XML and X12 messages a plus
Solutions delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) knowledge and best practices a plus
Certifications: Epic Proficiency/certification a plus

Collaborates and Coordinates across all applicable IT teams for integrated troubleshooting and problem resolution
Proactively provides alternative solutions to problems and recommendations for enhancing application design and implementation
Collaborates and Coordinates across all applicable IT teams to implement integrated solutions to meet customer needs.
Supports the implementation and operation of enterprise integrated information systems including hardware and software.
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of training/competency on the integrated systems, tools and applications.
