What You'll Do May review drawings, procedures and engineering orders for completeness, compatibility, producibility, and correctness. May organize, analyze, write and present technical marketing and proposal information for program managers and customers. Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. May work with classified documents which requires thorough knowledge of DoD procedures for the proper usage and safeguarding of classified information. Perform software engineering activities leveraging agile practices using the latest open source software development and engineering tools. Maintain and update required records and reports. Present and resolve any technical program difficulties or discrepancies with the team, customers, and subcontractors in a timely manner. What You'll Need BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience. Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. Proficiency with one or more software programming languages, such as: C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, Scala, etc. Proficiency with common software development tasks, such as: coding, unit testing, debugging, configuration management, etc. Experience with agile software development methodologies, e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFE, etc. Experience with cloud computing platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, OpenStack, etc. Experience with application platform software such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, etc. Experience with microservices and distributed systems. Experience with messaging, such as RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, SQS, Apache ActiveMQ, Apache Kaka, etc. Experience with big data processing technologies, such as Hadoop/Map Reduce, Apache Spark, Apache STORM, etc. Experience with web application frameworks, such as Django, Flask, AngularJS, Node.js, etc. Experience with databases and data storage technologies including Relational databases, NoSQL databases, columnar databases, key/value stores, etc. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or clean room, outdoors or remote research environment. May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
