Description of Work Articulate technical leader who can design, present, lead and drive technical direction to mature integration and value of a major platform to meet business requirements. Maintain the operation of multi-user the Disability and Entitlement Imaging Architecture effort encompasses the electronic storage and retrieval of all disability and entitlement casework from the initial intake process through the appeals process and includes the continuing disability review process. Provide support during all phases of the software development life cycle. Work closely with the agency staff and others for ongoing technical support for Disability and Entitlement Imaging System hardware and software deployed in the agency offices and other service locations across the country. Work activities include the following Lead analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure and application issues in conjunction with application owners and vendors. Lead efforts in developing and implementing automation strategies for infrastructure builds, OS and application patching, configuration changes and maintenance updates. Lead efforts in providing recommendations regarding optimization methods or configuration of Disability and Entitlement Imaging Systems equipment. Review and provide recommendations for upgrades, adoption of new technology changes or updates aligned with the business requirements and maturity of the infrastructure and application platform. Plan and implement changes and upgrades in compliance with agency wide standards Manage and support the RHEL Operating System platform and WebSphere middleware application. Assist in the design and execution of performance analysis tools, such as WebSphere monitoring, on various hardware and software configurations. Evaluate configurations, vulnerabilities, and risks in relation to the agency s security model and industry standards. Respond to alerts generated by monitoring infrastructure tools. Participate in IT modernization efforts such as migrating document management mainframe workloads to x86Linux infrastructure. Participate in conference calls, meetings and testing activities. Document all hardware and software changes, incidents, and testing results as per the agency policy. RequirementsBasic Qualifications Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed. Bachelor s Degree and 7 years of relevant work experience OR Masters and 5 year of relative experience OR 11 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. 7 years of experience or more as a UnixLinux system administrator, with 5 years specific to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (RHEL 7). 5 years of experience or more using IBM WebSphere Application Server managing and supporting enterprise applications. 4 years of experience as a lead DevOpsAgile Engineer collaborating, defining requirements and articulating paths forward. 3 years of experience with o Designing, leading and driving technical direction to mature integration and value of a major platform. o Leading projects and providing updates to all levels of leadership demonstrating strong verbal and written communications. o Ansible creating and running playbooks and automating operating system installation. o Using Logical Volume Manager (LVM) to manage logical volumes or file systems. 2 years of experience or more using Bash and Perl Scripting to automate daily OS level tasks, monitoring Must be or US Permanent Resident () Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust clearance Preferred Qualifications Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration. Experience in following technical areas o Linux boot process though Firmware, GRUB, Kernel and system Initialization phase. o init and system, system and service management programs. o Support of more than 100+ serversVMs in production servers. o nmcli or ip tools in Linux networking. o RPM and YUM package installations, systemserver patch and upgrades, maintain NFS services in Linux. o Backup and restore tools o Storage and Logical volume management. o Apache Web Server (configuration, making virtual server, SSLTLS). o Splunk (admin or operator level). o Monitoring products such as Nagios, or any other tool o LDAP and Kerberos (setting up as a client and configuring with AD) Working knowledge of o Networking OSI 7-Layer Model, LAN, WAN, Wireshark, F5 Load Balancers. o DNS (MX, A, PTR), SMTP (Sendmail and Postfix) Experience with o Deploying, sizing, integrating and managing middleware environments. o Data Analytics and Data Science concepts. o Linux security using sudo, selinux, firewall etc. o GIT and BitBucket. o Java-based application troubleshooting experience using monitoring tools (e.g., Introscope) and log debugging using Splunk. o Ticketing system HP service manager andor Remedy. o Enterprise level web applications installing, configuring and troubleshooting experience, and coordinating and communicating with different levels of team members. o Monitoring application and OS health on a daily basis. o Developing and deploying tools (e.g., Docker, Puppet, and Jenkins). o Cloud o Systems application life cycle.
