Job Summary

This System Administrator will primarily be responsible for the administration of one or more of the following solutions: Windows Server Update Services for deploying and installing monthly Windows updates, Veritas DLO for file backup and recovery, Team viewer, JAMF, and Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager for hardware/software inventory and software distribution. The System Administrator will work closely with the Desktop Systems Engineer, Desktop Support Analysts and other System Administrators working on the datacenter systems. As a member of the team, the System Administrator may also get involved in managing users and computers in Active Directory, troubleshooting system problems, and special projects as needed.

Responsibilities/Job Function

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Management of WSUS solution for desktops and laptops o Ensure that needed updates are approved for the correct target groups. o Ensure that systems are properly communicating with the WSUS server, and diagnose and repair those that are not. o Ensure that updates are actually being installed on the WSUS systems (including system restarts being performed where necessary) in a timely manner. o Ensure that the WSUS server is being properly managed and maintained (including removing approvals from updates that are no longer needed, and running the Server Cleanup Wizard and DB Maintenance script at appropriate intervals). o Educate the team about the patching process Management of Veritas DLO automated file protection for desktops and laptops o Ensure all end user desktops and laptop are performing backups o Monitor and maintain DLO servers o Daily cleanup of systems no longer active Management of SCCM for inventory, monitoring SCCM client status, and remote software deployment. o Support primary SCCM site including site configuration, client installation, permissions, and monitoring. Support and knowledge of Virtual systems Support and knowledge of O365 Help build, test, and maintain new desktop management solutions as needed Document processes and procedures related to monthly patching and backups to satisfy PCI and information security policy requirements. Work closely with the Information Security team to ensure system compliance. Participate in DR planning and testing activities Interact with Servicedesk and other support teams to assist in troubleshooting Watch for email alerts to identify and fix problems

Qualifications/Minimum Skills Required

Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years supporting a Desktop/Server environment Working knowledge of AD, group policies, Microsoft services such as DNS/DHCP, and IP networks. Required Skills: Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills Excellent troubleshooting skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team Ability to administer Windows Server Update Services for deploying and installing monthly Windows updates, Veritas DLO for file backup and recovery, Team viewer, JAMF, and Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager Preferred Skills: Certifications not required, but are a plus (A+, N+, MCP, MCSA/E) Equal Employment Opportunity M/F/Disability/Protected Veteran Status
