Capital Markets maintains its own middle and back-office functions, including Risk Management, Compliance, Systems, Finance, and Operations. SMBC Capital Markets, Inc. is looking for a high-energy individual that has an interest in both technology and the financial markets to join us as technical Business Analyst and Project Manager in our Derivative Product Group Technology team. The Technical Business Analyst / Project Manager for Middle to Back office Derivatives Businesses will focus on Regulatory Trade Reporting. **Responsibilities** + Work with stakeholders, sponsors and management to understand and document business needs. + Actively participate in senior management, business, and IT meetings. + Capture and distribute effective meeting minutes and action items to drive initiatives forward. + Create functional and business requirements documents (FRDs and BRDs), as well as other supporting artifacts such as current and future system and business workflows, GUI, or report mock-ups. + Conduct review sessions and obtain approvals. + Document Project scope and obtain sponsor approvals. Manage project tasks, timeline, risks and issues. + Document QA test plans and perform in-depth QA testing. + Work with users to document UAT test plans. + Manage UAT testing, track defects & their timely resolution, Report on UAT metrics. + Work with Technology and Business teams to document production implementation & coordinate user + Participate in production support and BAU enhancements **Qualifications** + 7+ years of experience in bank capital markets as a technical business analyst, project manager with experience relating to Middle Office and Back office system implementations. + An SME in job functions and processes in derivatives trading (MO/BO) including CFTC and EMIR Trade Regulatory Reporting and Reconciliation systems, tools and operations. + Sound understanding of components of regulation, industry-standard Trade Repository Reporting practices, Clearing, Portfolio Reconciliation, Confirmations and Margining. + Demonstrated experience managing, end to end, design, definition and delivery of technical solutions in-line with strategic goals. + Demonstrated experience in managing Vendor relationships and integration with third party vendor platforms. + Fluent in converting user requirements into usable technical specifications for Development. + Strong communication/presentation skills (written and oral) in cross-cultural business environment. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to manage company wide - strategic projects. + Ability to read and understand system code (C, C++), Autosys Batch Scheduler. + Ability to analyze data, write SQL queries for data analysis. + Ability to breakdown complex business problems and workflows into meaningful components that are understandable by various levels within the firms. + Desire to improve business functions and create strategic solutions. + Great reconciliation skills. + Hands-on experience with manual or automated testing environments. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members, and management. + Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. + Hands-on experience with manual or automated testing environments. + Strong work ethic with focus on meeting deadlines and objectives. + Strong skills working with MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS SQL & SharePoint. + Bachelor's degree.
