POSITION SUMMARY The Program Manager will work with the Executive Director of ESG, and colleagues in the ESG Center to develop and execute an annual meeting for the ESG Center, as well as working groups, roundtables, webcasts, and podcasts throughout the year. The Program Manager will directly support the ESG Center's Governance Advisory Board. The Program Manager will help develop ESG-related conferences to be managed by Executive Programs. The Program Manager will also work closely with the ESG Center's Member Engagement Director and others to attract Members to the Center's activities, and to engage sponsors where appropriate. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the Executive Director of the ESG Center PRINCIPAL DIRECT ACTIVITIES + ESG Center Programming - Development: Develop a variety of programming for the ESG Center (including the ESG Center's annual meeting, working groups, roundtables, webcasts, and podcasts) that will engage and retain Members and attract prospective Members and sponsors. + Working with ESG Center colleagues, take the lead in identifying topics, designing relevant and engaging agendas, and recruiting speakers and participants who can add value for all of the events listed above. These should typically be ESG Center Members, other Center Members, Council Members, prospective Members, sponsors, other thought leaders and senior executives interested in the topic. As appropriate, conduct background research and assemble CLE materials relating to programs. + Manage the execution of all of the programs listed above. + Work closely with the Member Engagement Director and Member Engagement Associate, as well as the Associate Directors of Executive Programs affiliated with the ESG Center to place Conference Board Members and Council Members with an interest and experience in topics in ESG Center Programs. + Work with the ESG Center's Program and Communications Manager, as well as others, to ensure that program information is provided in a timely manner to Members, sponsors, and prospective attendees. + Analyze and produce reports on the effectiveness of the programming against quantitative and qualitative criteria. + ESG Center Programming - Execution: Manage meeting planning details for all events, including the selection of and coordination with hotels, restaurants and other facilities. + Create and manage budget for all events. + Monitor room blocks and guarantees. + Prepare and manage distribution of materials. + Work with the ESG Center's Program and Communications Manager to ensure target attendance at all events. + Ensure recognition of sponsors. + Other Programming: Collaborate with others across The Conference Board to develop ESG-related programming. + Work with Executive Programs to develop agendas and identify speakers and attendees for conferences managed by Executive Programs. + Work with The Conference Board's Sustainability Center in Europe to identify topics and, to tailor sustainability programming, suitable for the ESG Center's largely U.S.-based membership. + Work with other Conference Board Centers to identify speakers for ESG-related topics at their events. + Other duties as assigned. These include, among other things, participating in the development and execution of the ESG Center's strategic and operating plans. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS + Experience working with C-suite executives, including CEOs and chief legal officers; corporate governance, sustainability, and philanthropy professionals; institutional investors; and board members + Corporate governance experience or working knowledge of corporate governance, sustainability, and corporate citizenship/philanthropy principles and concepts + Excellent academic credentials required; advanced degree desired + Excellent written and oral communication skills + Knowledge and experience working with financial reporting using Excel spreadsheets + Demonstrated track record of successful event planning and execution What We Offer The Conference Board is proud to embrace best practices in employee wellbeing.
