For more information about VERTEX visit us here The Project Manager we are looking for will be responsible for overseeing a wide variety of tasks in our Surety division, including but not limited to: surety claim investigations and management of project completion for surety clients. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following tasks: exposure analyses, termination analyses, preparation of cost-to-complete reports, payment bond claim review, schedule review, claims investigations, preparation of rebid packages, subcontractor / vendor ratifications, completion monitoring and reporting, and field supervision / management of completion projects. Additional tasks may include: damage assessments, construction defect investigation, contract claim analysis and reporting, cost estimating, litigation support, and acting as an expert witness in construction-related matters. More specific details are described below. Location: Currently located in Long Island City, but anticipate relocating to Manhattan for 2020. Project Manager Provide management and review for multiple projects and consulting engagements; provide assistance and support to the Division Manager and team staff. Project Managers are responsible for delivering outstanding professional services within their geographical realm and skill-set. Client satisfaction is essential. Core Responsibilities + Providing consulting services to surety and law firm clients with respect to construction performance and payment issues and/or disputes. + Effective management of select assignments; meeting budget and delivery timeframes; ensuring client + Ensuring that assignments are executed with technical proficiency, accuracy, and professionalism. + Developing technical specialization and expertise that benefits the company and broadens our service + Timely review and processing of client + Make employee safety a priority both in-house and on-site, in accordance with corporate policy Position Requirements + Travel as required to fulfill position and project + Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with superiors, co-workers, clients and subcontractors + Able to demonstrate experience in the management of construction projects, and delivery of projects on-time and on-budget. + Able to provide oversight and direction to junior staff + Timely submission of time and expenses on a weekly + Other duties as assigned by Division Manager Qualifications Education + Bachelor's degree in a technical, construction-related field (i.e.: architecture, construction management, engineering). + Advanced degree or certification not required but + A license in at least one state within the position's geographic region is preferred, but not Experience: + Minimum of 3-10 years of experience in construction management and/or construction claims. + Proven track record of Project Management + Candidates should be proficient in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Knowledge & Skills + Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities and can perform exceptionally under high stress + Effective verbal and written communication skills + Efficient, well-organized and positive attitude when approached with challenges and realities of construction management and consulting + Requires excellent technology, computer, and document management proficiencies, and proficiency with standard software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe) + Proficient in CPM scheduling. Experience with Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 is desired.
