The Program Manager within the Operational Excellence department is responsible for the management of all OpEx projects, ensuring the timely delivery of projects and initiatives across WMC Health Operations. The Program Manager will work closely with Management Engineers, Project Managers and Operations Analysts ensuring the timely implementation of improvement projects and strategic initiatives while supporting the development of workflows/process maps, operational standardization and data driven change recommendations. The Program Manager is responsible for reporting the progress of all Operational excellence projects and guiding continuous improvement of workflows and project management tool sets. This position requires excellent business knowledge, strong people management skills & emotional intelligence, the ability to analyze complex issues, comfort with technology and a drive to deliver lasting results with change.
Manage Operational Excellence projects and strategic initiatives.
Support performance improvement activities that align with the strategic direction of the WMC Health Network based on the analysis of current state operations, anticipated needs, and innovative approaches to the future.
Oversee data collection, analysis, and assessment through observations and system reporting and prepare documents, including workflow and process flows diagrams.
Control the implementation and roll out of tools and solutions to be used by Operations teams
Lead the prioritization and governance of strategic initiatives by partnering with leadership and Operational Excellence team members
Establish, administer and improve project management practices and processes for the organization
Identify and communicate critical path, track progress, problem solve and lead key projects
Build Bi-weekly project updates based on quantitative & qualitative knowledge
Develop risk mitigation and contingency planning recommendations
Collaborate with staff, other departments, senior management, and decision makers to share information, problem solve, and clarify management objectives
Partner with operational & clinical leaders to achieve agreements and stakeholder support for change
Ensure impacted business areas are ready to implement change and able to sustainably deliver results
Establish and maintain positive work relationships throughout the organization
Contribute to the establishment of best practice project management and business change
Facilitate training, coaching and mentoring to all stakeholders involved
Facilitate teams that will identify, design and implement solutions
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of experience aligned with the responsibilities for this position
PMP Certificate Required
Project management or business consulting experience working in relevant, complex business environments. Healthcare Experience preferred.
Experience of leading and/or managing multiple projects to achieve significant, sustainable improvements and positive outcomes through internal and external partnerships
Technical aptitude and the ability to pick up new technology quickly. Experience with modern EMR software, optimization, reporting, and workflow design preferred.
Agile skills, beyond project management, that draw from other disciplines such as analytics, business administration, organization development, and information technology
Knowledge of process improvement techniques
Ability to analyze and understand complex information and communicate it clearly
Clear, logical thinking to understand the root causes of issues
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Excellent written and verbal communication with a strong drive for perfection / professionalism in delivery and presentation.
Desire to create change to drive improvement in organizational performance
Ability to effectively prioritize, work in a fast paced environment, and deal effectively with change and ambiguity
Ability to involve stakeholders from different functional areas, geographies and perspectives to get input, resolve problems and continuously improve processesAbility to effectively facilitate meetings and decision-making sessions, present information, and respond to questions from groups of staff, managers, and various stakeholders
